Anxiety Part 3: Do you Hate Surprises?

Does the thought of a surprise make you nervous?

When you think about the future does it worry you?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then you may have a low tolerance for uncertainty.

This can be a major contributor to how we produce the pattern that we call anxiety.

Being ok with not knowing is a skill to be developed and learned.

Because let’s be honest, we don’t know for sure what tomorrow will bring, and we shouldn’t. I mean how boring would life be with no wonderful surprises.

Be reassured that everything life has thrown you, you have survived it in some shape or form. Chances are you will continue to do so.

Yes, life is uncertain. Things do happen that we don’t foresee. But just because you don’t know what will happen doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to deal with it.

And someone wise once said, the best way to predict the future is to create it. In the here and now with the plans that we make, in the here and now.
