It’s exhausting not being able to switch your mind off and be “more in the moment”.
Whether it’s the middle of the night and you are wide awake thinking about all of the things that you’d wished you’d done differently yesterday or the things you have to do tomorrow, having a busy mind stops you from being effective in life and turns small problems into catastrophes.
Anxiety and depression can start to develop when you go over things endlessly in your mind, while not coming up with any solutions for future events, or focussing on the unchangeable past.
But thinking isn’t doing and no amount of worrying solves anything. Thoughts that loop around and around don’t solve anything, they just make you feel worse.
The world does not respond to your thoughts, it responds to your actions. And developing the skill to focus more on thoughts that produce action and results is a skill well worth learning.
Being more mindful and accepting what it can help enormously if you are a “worrier”.
Hypnotherapy combined with strategic psychotherapy allows you to develop those skills. After all, it isn’t good enough to just know what we should be doing, implementing it is the tricky part and maybe made a lot easier using hypnosis.
