Controlling My Own Anger, not anyone.
It’s not my fault that I get angry, right? If everyone just did what I think they should then I would never need to get angry.
Is this something that you hear yourself saying?
You know that it is having a negative impact on your life. Because at best your friends and family avoid you and at worst are actually scared of you.
At that moment you dismiss the future consequences, which often can be catastrophic.
What is Anger?
The anger response is created by a sense of injustice and when you feel you just can’t control your emotions anymore and it feels like it explodes out of you.
You get angry if people don’t live by your “rules” because obviously, your way is the best way.
It’s a constant struggle internally about how things are and how you think things should be.
This is often a problem that men specifically have as they will turn other emotions into what they consider a more socially acceptable emotion.
Perhaps what you see as assertiveness others see as anger. There is a difference, assertiveness is unemotional and logical while anger is extremely emotional and totally illogical.
How to Control Your Anger?
The good news is, you can do something about it.
By dealing with the underpinning anxiety and learning the skill of control are the first steps that you can take towards not being angry.
Knowing the difference between what to take personally and what just affects you personally (there is a difference). This will enable you to not feel so persecuted and a constant sense of life being unfair.
Because feelings aren’t always the best tool to use when deciding how to act, especially at the moment which causes those actions that you do and comes to regret later on.
